One of the most important factors in the design of the wedding is determining what Seasonal Wedding Flowers you are going to use. Let’s take a deep dive into some of the most popular Seasonal Wedding Flowers!
Spring Season
Daffodil – Statement Flower
This perennial comes in various pastel shades such as yellow, pink, or cream. This can be a beautiful statement piece for a centerpiece surrounded by other spring colors.
Tulip – Statement Flower
The tulip is another spring flower that can be used as a statement piece. With varying colors, this flower can work for both a bold or pastel color scheme.
Lilac – Small Statement/Filler Flower
Both fragrant and beautiful, the lilac is a great addition to the centerpieces as they emit a sweet aroma. The lilac could be used as a smaller statement piece, or a filler flower.
Hyacinth – Filler Flower
A personal favorite filler flower, the Hyacinth comes in various colors including deep purple, a dark blue, pink, apricot, cream, and white. While beautiful, this flower is rather expensive in large quantities.
Summer Season
Hydrangea – Statement Flower
Another personal favorite of mine and the ultimate coastal wedding flower, the Hydrangea is the perfect summer staple flower. Coming in shades of blue, pink, and purple, this flower is one of the more expensive wedding flowers.
Rose – Statement Flower
A classic wedding flower, the rose is a beautiful choice of statement flower. They can come in any color that fits your theme, although they can be a little pricey when determining the quantity.
Baby’s Breath – Filler Flower
Baby’s breath is a filler flower that can be added to almost any bouquet, centerpiece, or arrangement. Considered one the most inexpensive Seasonal Wedding Flowers, Baby’s breath is a great option for adding to almost anything.
Sunflower – Statement Flower
Generally considered the flower of the summer, the Sunflower is a great statement piece of anyone who’s theme is more bold. Sunflowers are definitely less expensive than the other flowers that bloom in summer.
Fall Season
Chrysanthemum – Statement Flower
Varying in more bold colors, the Chrysanthemum is a durable statement flower. In Asia, this flower signifies having a long and happy life so it’s a perfect addition to a fall wedding!
Dahlia – Statement Flower
Considered to be one of the less expensive Seasonal Wedding Flowers, the Dahlia is a great option. This flower comes in many beautiful jewel tones but can also be more pastel if need be.
Snapdragon – Filler Flower
A fun addition to any bouquet, snapdragons are long filler flowers with pops of color. Looking very similar to lilac with more color and less bulbs, the Snapdragon is a good alternative for a fall flower.
Marigold – Small Statement Flower
Coming in more bold tones such as yellow or orange, the Marigold is a classic fall flower. Less expensive than other fall flowers, the Marigold is a great option if the color scheme of your fall wedding is more bright.
Winter Season
Snowdrops – Filler Flower
While not a great statement flower, the Snowdrop is a beautiful final addition to a bouquet. These flowers are extremely delicate and rather expensive as they are difficult to obtain in large quantities.
Camellia – Statement Flower
Camellias are both inexpensive and a rather durable flower. Paired with the fact that they come in bright and beautiful jewel tones, this makes them one of the most sought after winter wedding flowers.
Primrose – Smaller Statement/Filler Flower
Signifying “new beginnings”, the Primrose is an extremely versatile flower. Being used as both a statement and filler flower, the Primrose is the least expensive during its prime months of the winter season.
Winterberry – Filler Berry
Technically, not a flower, the Winterberry (in my very humble opinion) is the PERFECT addition to any arrangement during a winter wedding. The Winterberry flaunts a handful of beautiful red berries in the middle. These tend to be less expensive since they are a filler and you won’t need many to make a statement.
