There are so many items that are considered “essential” when picking Wedding Registry Items.
While these lists are true, here is our list of 10 must-haves for any kitchen that won’t break the bank!
Utensil Set
This CB2 Tilt 20-Piece Brushed Silver Utensil Set is both beautiful and functional. If this is the first time that you and your partner are living together, investing in good quality pieces that affordable pricing is essential.
I would recommend adding a CB2 or Quince utensil set to your registry items. Both brands produce quality pieces that are affordable and you can add one or two sets to your registry, depending on your needs!
Knives
Obviously knives are a huge part of any kitchen. However, when purchasing them, you want to know a few things:
- Quality over Quantity – knives can be expensive but you should definitely invest in quality pieces
- The types of knives you will need – there are many types of knives and depending on the work you do in the kitchen, you will need different ones
- Storing the knives – do you like your knives to be on the counter in a block or displaying on a magnetic strip?
This knife set from Crate and Barrel, is a great (and affordable) option. The knife block is beautiful and all of these pieces are wonderful quality. Each knife is made of high-carbon stainless steel which means that the maintenance & upkeep of these knives is much more than other knives, however, they keep their edge for a long time.
Cutting Boards
Cutting boards are a definite must-have when adding registry items. These beautiful acacia cutting boards from Williams Sonoma are a great option for quality & price.
I personally love wooden cutting boards because you can leave them on the counter and they will still look beautiful. However, these cutting boards from Williams Sonoma are a great option if you like plastic instead!
Kitchen Utensils
Personally, this is a BIG one for me. I absolutely love my kitchen utensil set from Martha Stewart that I bought on Amazon. Stainless steel utensils that sit on my counter elevate the space so well and this set is rather affordable.
Pair this time with a cute holder that fits your aesthetic from Amazon or another store to finish out the look!
Bakeware
Bakeware is something that my significant other and I use all of the time. Whether baking or cooking dinner, it’s definitely a must-have for registry items.
This Crate & Barrel (can you tell we love them?) Bakeware set is just to die for. The shade of blue is just perfect AND everything that you need comes in the set for under $100!
Mixing Bowls
When I tell you that these mixing bowls were probably the best everyday kitchen purchase in my new apartment, I’m not lying. These Mixing Bowls from Williams Sonoma are truly a lifesaver when making several dishes at once.
As someone who loves to cook but hates making a mess in the kitchen, these come in handy. With a set of 10, you’re never needing to stop in the middle of cooking and do the dishes.
Salt & Pepper Mills
Salt & Pepper Mills are two things that you never think you will need until the time comes. Having small containers on the counter can be handy, but larger salt & pepper mills look classic & work like a charm.
This set from Le Creuset is tried and true, and they are beautiful. One of the pros to buying from Le Creuset is that they have tons of colors so if you’re a pink household type of girly, then you’re covered!
Immersion Blender
Again, a registry item that you never think you will need until the time comes – an Immersion Blender. This product is so helpful to make soup, dressings, or sauces. My personal favorite Immersion Blender (and trust me, I’ve tried a few), is this Immersion Blender from KitchenAid.
After buying one for my apartment because it was cheap, I quickly realized why I should spend a little more. This KitchenAid Immersion blender is incredibly user friendly and small so you can store it easily.
Toaster
This KitchenAid toaster is both functional and beautiful. Coming in four different colorways, this toaster can sit on the counter and never mess up an aesthetic.
This toaster also comes in two different sizes, a 4-slice size & a 2-slice size. After owning the 2-slice size, I can comfortably assure you that the 4-slice size is much better. It’s easier to use and you’ll never wish you had less slots for toast!
Cookbooks
As someone who just moved into a new apartment, I can say that the best gifts were cookbooks. I get so bored of making the same recipes so cookbooks are a fun way to spice dinner up!
My personal favorite is anything by Ina Garten, but I’m patiently waiting for Wishbone Kitchen to come out with her cookbook.
