Here’s the comprehensive guide to making a Target Wedding Registry!
I know that wedding registries can be SUPER overwhelming. Deciding between different stores and all-inclusive platforms can be difficult. That’s why we have created this list for everything you need to know about the Target Wedding Registry!
Before jumping into it, there are a few things that you want to make sure your registry has:
- Super Easy Returns
- On the off chance that someone purchases a big ticket item for you in the wrong color or size, you want to make sure you can switch it out easily!
- A percent off of your registry completion
- This essentially means that whatever is left over on your registry, you can then purchase for a discounted rate. It’s helpful to have this feature especially when moving in with your significant other and buying things for your new home!
- Gift Tracking
- Gift tracking makes it easy to determine who sent you and your partner what and thank them. Some programs automatically send thank you emails, but it still can be nice to write them a personal note.
- Universal Registry
- One HUGE part of any registry is whether or not they allow outside products to be linked. This is super helpful when you have a few larger ticket pieces from various places.
Now jumping into the specifics about the Target Wedding Registry!
Target has great features with their wedding registry set-up, including some of the biggies that I mentioned earlier.
- Target gives you up to 1 year for free returns on your registry items.
- The one year starts after your event date, and it includes most unopened or new items. All you have to do is show them your return barcode from the registry. Definitely note that it is MOST items, not all.
- 15 % off the rest of your registry
The week of your event, Target sends you a 15% off coupon for the rest of your registry. This also includes other things that you may have forgotten to put on your registry. However, this coupon can only be used twice: once in-store and once online for up to 6 months after your event.
- Target Exclusive Brands
There are various brands that are sold exclusively at Target including: Threshold, Opalhouse, Project 62, Hearth & Hand, Casaluna (love their sheets), Brightroom, and Room Essentials. All of these target exclusive brands are great choices of things to add to your registry!
- Custom Page Personalization
- Once setting up your registry, you’re able to add pictures and notes to the site. This feature also sets up a custom URL for you to add to your invites/save the dates/etc.
- Gift Tracker
- While not as comprehensive as one may like, Target does offer a Gift Tracker that tells you exactly who sent what and whether you’ve sent them a thank you. I love this feature because it keeps me organized and on track of my thank-you’s!
- Registry Checklist
One of my absolute favorite features from Target, is the registry checklist! It separates each list by category/room and lists the essential items. When adding items to your registry, it updates and tells you how many of the essential items you have added.
- Universal Registry
The best part of this system for most people is the Universal Registry feature. This means that they can include things from other stores on the Target Wedding Registry. This is great for larger items such as big kitchen appliances and electronics!
All in all, the Target Wedding Registry is a great option for those who love the brands that Target carries. The additional 15% off the rest of the remaining items in the registry is a great discount, however, I have seen higher discounts. The Target Wedding Registry is definitely a fan favorite among people who are first-time homeowners.
