Whether it’s from a website or a specialized artist, most people use Wedding Calligraphy in one way or another. We’ve detailed our favorite ways to incorporate Wedding Calligraphy into your wedding!
Bridesmaid Box Tags
A favorite of many people, the Bridesmaid Box Cards asking for your girls to become your bridesmaids are a great way to use Wedding Calligraphy!
A less “loopy” typeface is used for this example, and is usually brides’ choice of font for this type of project. It makes the text much easier to read and can make it look less messy.
However, the more “loopy” typefaces are good for fancier themes such as Gatsby-esque weddings.
The best part about this seller from Etsy, is that you can customize the colors for the box, ribbon, and include the name cards as well!
Invitations
An obvious choice, the wedding invitation is a great spot to include some Wedding Calligraphy.
The example above is from a well-known invitation designer called Shine Wedding Invitations. They specialize in designing the whole process of invitations.
Their calligraphic expertise would be beautiful on some wedding invites. I love when the couples’ names are bolded in calligraphy, but another way to tie this in, would be to include the recipients names on the envelope in calligraphy.
Please Sign Our Guestbook Sign
Many people have large extravagant signs that point to a guest book, however, I think that this sign from Amazon is a beautiful touch. You can even use this sign as inspiration to create your own!
Creating a sign that is square rather than a full-sheet of paper, makes it look less DIY. Similarly, incorporating other fonts into the sign gives it some dimension.
For example, this sign uses a more straight typeface for the “Please Sign Our” section of the sign, while using Wedding Calligraphy for the “Guest book” portion.
Reserved Cards
Another timeless way to incorporate Wedding Calligraphy into your wedding is including “Reserved Cards”. For most, there will be an open seating arrangement at the ceremony. These cards can be placed on individual seats or pews to ensure there is room for the bride or groom’s family.
While you can mix & match the colors, fonts, or words, I think these cards are a cute way to tie in some fun calligraphy! The example above is from Zazzle, however, you can easily DIY these yourself on Canva using a blank square template!
